Meet Favour
Favour Peters is a third year student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Disability and Rehabilitation. She has worked with Orion Life Gate Foundation, a student organisation that address daily socioeconomic barriers persons with disability encounter. With a driven passion towards disability issues and the collective effort of the executive council, Favour formulated projects that created solutions to the needs and problems of persons living with disability.
As Public Relations Officer for Ghana Association of Disability and Rehabilitation Students, she has chaired the publicity committee of the Association to draw out a comprehensive one-year academic plan on educational and career seminars, outreaches and counselling sessions for students and is currently planning a virtual Educational Fair in collaboration with the Academic and Organisational Committees to provide students with knowledge on educational opportunities and training sessions on effective learning strategies for excellent academic performance.
Favour hopes to implement an initiative of establishing an all-inclusive rehabilitation centre for persons with disability that employs the Biopsychosocial approach to disability by investigating causative factors and curative methods that improve function through provision of assistive technology and therapeutic interventions while restructuring systems and policies to form a universal and accessible society for All.
Sincerely,
Favour Peters.
