Meet Eliana

I graduated Achimota High School in 2018 as the best science student in my graduating class. I am currently in my third year of studying medicine at KNUST. Aside my predominant interest in medicine, I have the passion for volunteering and research which led me to volunteer in the May Measurement Month 2019 program and the Neonatal Jaundice Project. I am also the Assistant Research Officer of the Girls in Biotech Club, KNUST. I come from a family of four, a single mother and two sisters also in the University. My father passed away shortly after I enrolled in the University due to a long-term illness. My mother has since then taken the responsibility of caring for my siblings and I with support from family and friends. I aim to become a medical doctor and researcher who will contribute positively to the health of many people and will commit to finding solutions where possible to the many health problems in my country. I also have the vision of improving basic education and child development in my country by building resourceful community Libraries and organizing STEM workshops and educational programs for the children and young people in my country.

Sincerely, Eliana Efa.
